ATLANTIC COUNTY -
A Salem County woman, who worked for an Atlantic County
concrete and material company, pleaded guilty to tax evasion today in U.S. District Court.
59 year old Nancy Armienti of Elmer admitted to evading
federal income taxes on nearly $700,00 that she received as
an employee of an Atlantic County concrete and material company.
Armienti took nearly $600,000 from her
employer through cash withdrawals and payments to QVC for items she ordered.
She then created false business expense records to conceal her use of these funds.
Armienti also failed to file a 2008 federal income tax return
and failed to pay the IRS the income tax due on the total income she received
that year.
Sentencing is scheduled for April when Armienti faces up to
five years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
