The group that owns a popular online poker site has agreed to purchase an Atlantic City casino.
The Rational Group, which owns online gambling sites Pokerstars.net and Full tilt poker, has agreed to buy the Atlantic Club Casino Hotel from Resorts International Holdings, pending approval from the proper authorities.
According to a joint release the Atlantic Club and the Rational Group, the acquisition will secure as many as 2,000 jobs. The release also says the Atlantic Club Casino will operate as normal under the current management, which will be retained following the sale. The total cost of the sale has not been disclosed.
The agreement comes as a bill allowing online gambling is awaiting approval from Governor Chris Christie. The Governor has not said whether he would pass the bill.
