-MAYS LANDING – Wal-Mart has announced that it will hire more veterans.
The retailer announced Tuesday in a statement that they are looking to hire 100,000 veterans over the next five years, making a commitment to offer a job to any honorably discharged veteran in his or her first 12 months off active duty starting memorial day.
We spoke to customers at Wal-Mart's Mays Landing location who said they are happy to hear about the plans to hire veterans, especially when it can be difficult for those who serve our country to find jobs after being discharged.
Most of the jobs will be in Wal-Mart stores and clubs, and some will be in distribution centers and the home office.
