NORTHFIELD - Where we found out how many flu shots are left,
and what to do if you've got the flu and haven't gotten the shot.
Bunting Pharmacy in Northfield said that last week alone over
200 customers got the flu shot, way more than in past seasons.
Owner Joe Bunting said that there's not many doses left, and
that waiting for stocks to replenish may not be something to hope for, as the
centers for disease control and prevention is already preparing for next flu
season.
But if you get the flu and haven't gotten the shot, you can
still seriously shorten the time spent being sick, and mitigate the symptoms by
taking Tamiflu.
Once speaking to your doctor and getting the prescription
written, Tamilflu is taken twice per day for five days.
It can also be taken once a day as a preventative measure
against the flu, also with a prescription.
Bunting also recommends over the counter solutions such as Tylenol,
Robitussin and cough drops to help mitigate symptoms and help you to get rest.
