GALLOWAY TWP. -- Saturday was an important night for one of South Jersey's own, as Egg Harbor City's Lindsey Petrosh represented the Garden State as Miss New Jersey in the Miss America Pageant.
The pageant as held Saturday night in Las Vegas, with beauty queens from across the country competing for the title of Miss America.
Her fans gathered Saturday night at Blue Heron Pines Golf Club to cheer her on.
"Lindsey is so normal with her crown and everything she went through the past year. She's not a glamour queen and I think the young girls that meet her can definitely relate. That's why there's so many of them here this evening I think," says Cathy Hewson, who organized the viewing party.
Unfortunately, Petrosh did not advance the finals of the competition, but will continue to represent the state as Miss New Jersey.
