MARGATE -

Officials say a fire that destroyed Margate home Wednesday has been ruled arson.

Fire investigators Ed Woltman and Chris Baumgartel of the Margate City Fire Department made the official ruling Friday and are now working together with detectives from the Margate City Police Department to determine who may have set fire to the North Jefferson Avenue home just before 6:30 on January 9th.

Assistance with the investigation was given by the Cape May County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit.

If anyone may have witnessed something, they are asked to contact the Margate City Police Department at (609) 822-1151.
