MIDDLE TWP. -
Middle Township Police say a 40 year old man was arrested for impersonating a police officer Monday.
Police say James Kelly of Burleigh, New Jersey was pan handling in Rio Grande while pretending to be a police officer.
Kelly was taken to the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Police warn that a legitimate public official will not solicit money on the streets and if anyone approaches you claiming to be a police officer, ask for identification.
