Man arrested for aggravated assault with a knife - NBC40.net
ABSECON -- Police have arrested the man they say assaulted a man with a folding razor blade.
The responded to the Dollar Does It Store at New Jersey avenue and New Road around 2:40 p.m. Sunday to find the accused fleeing the scene in his car.
Police pursued the car and pulled it over, taking 36 year old Carlos Vergara into custody. Police also found a folding utility knife in the car, similar to the knife described in the altercation that originally led police to the accused.
The 50 year old victim was taken to Atlanticare Mainland Division with cuts on his right hand.
Vergara is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, plus several motor vehicle violations.
