ATLANTIC CITY -- Caesar's officials have confirmed that Don Marrandino is stepping down as head of Caesar's Entertainment's Eastern Division.
A memo issued by Caesar's says that Friday is Marrandino's last day with the company, and that he'll be moving on to pursue new opportunities.
Kevin Ortzman has been named as Marrandino's replacement and will become general manager, overseeing Caesar's Atlantic City, Bally's Atlantic City and Showboat Casino Hotel Properties.
Marrandino was named Eastern Division President in 2009.
Throughout his career, Marrandino has been credited for his efforts in working to highlight Atlantic City's gaming and entertainment appeal. Most recently, he was recognized for spearheading operation Hat Trick, a sold out NHL Charity Event at Boardwalk Hall that raised more than half a million dollars for Hurricane Sandy victims.
Marrandino was also recently honored by the Milton and Betty Katz Jewish Community Center of Atlantic City for his efforts to clean up the Boardwalk.
