On Thursday, January 3, 2013, at approximately 8:18 am, the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to Black Horse Auto Sales on the Black Horse Pike, in the Cardiff section of the township, in reference to a burglary. Master Police Officer Jody London responded and made contact with the victim, and indicated the shop and office for the business had been gone through.  Items were missing and a vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Matrix, was stolen off the lot.

The driver refused to stop and Galloway Officers pursued the vehicle, assisted by the New Jersey State Police, on the Garden State Parkway. The pursuit ended at approximately mile post 58 and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

Ireland has been charged with 2 counts of burglary, 3 counts of theft and criminal mischief in Egg Harbor Township. He was additionally charged with Eluding by Galloway Township.
