Cape May County held its annual reorganization meeting Thursday night, and swore in a returning Freeholder.
Leonard Desiderio was re–elected to another 3 year term in November. He was first elected in November 2002 to finish the term of then Freeholder Jeff Van Drew. He was elected again in 2003, 2006, and 2009.
Following the swearing–in, which took place in front of a standing room only crowd, Desiderio talked about getting back to work.
"We have a lot of hard work ahead of us, these are tough difficult times, and I promise to work with the board of freeholders putting our shoulder to shoulder to make sure Cape May County continues to be the best county to live in the state of New Jersey," said Desiderio.
Also at the meeting, Freeholder Gerald Thorton was re–elected as director of the Freeholder Board and Desiderio was named Vice Director.
