ABSECON -
For over 50 years, New Year's Day means the annual "slo–mo bowl" in south Jersey.
Amid a lot of laughter and even a little trash talk, the 51st annual "slo–mo bowl" kicked off this year in Absecon. The traditional game started as a way to take a break while watching the college bowl games. The game of tackle football is played in slow motion so that everyone from ages 2 to 92 can take part.
One of the rules is that everyone is eligible for a pass, so even our chief photographer Vincent Earley Junior got in on the game by catching this year's first touchdown.
Kent Daily was named the game's MVP with 2 touchdowns. The final score was 21 –21.
