A group of local volunteers are preparing to deliver holiday cheer to a part of the country that really needs it this year.
Thanks to a donation from "Pay it Forward NJ," and the community, Atlantic County Toys for Kids, along with representatives from the Atlantic County Sheriff's Office, will be driving up to Newtown Connecticut Wednesday, to donate toys, supplies, and time to the community in the wake of the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.
Those who are making the trip say they are not sure what to expect.
"It's going to be a difficult day on Wednesday, at this point we don't know what we are driving into, but we're willing to go in there and help the community any way we can," said Assemblyman John Amodeo, who will be making the trip.
The group says they are prepared to stay for just one day, or a few nights, depending on the need for their services in the community.
