HAMILTON TWP. -
A police officer was injured after an accident involving a patrol vehicle and another car.
It happened just after 12:30 a.m. Monday at the intersection of the Black Horse Pike and Wrangleboro Road in Hamilton Township.
Authorities say Krystal Cruz of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, was traveling south when she failed to stop at a red light before striking a police cruiser.
The collision sent the patrol vehicle onto the center median, which knocked down a utility pole supporting two traffic lights.
The officer involved in the crash was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center, City Division for unknown injuries.
Cruz and her passenger were not injured.
Cruz has been charged with D.W.I., reckless driving, careless driving and failure to observe a traffic signal.
Authorities say one westbound lane of the Black Horse Pike and one southbound lane on Wrangleboro Road will remain closed until the traffic post can be removed.
