ATLANTIC CITY -

A moment of silence was held throughout New Jersey Friday morning in honor of the one week anniversary of the school shooting in Newtown Connecticut.

Students here at the Uptown School complex honored Governor Chris Christie's request for a statewide moment of silence at 9:30  Friday morning to honor the 20 children and six educators killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School one week ago.

Connecticut's Governor Daniel Malloy asked places of worship and buildings with bells to have them ring 26 times, once for each victim.
