ATLANTIC CITY -
A small group of residents and family members of the teen who was killed in a police involved shooting in Atlantic City marched to the Mayor's house Thursday night, asking for an apology.
Mayor Lorenzo Langford returned to his home to find a small group of family and friends of Derreck Mack, including his mother, in front of his home with police officers present. The group was asking for him to apologize on behalf of the police department, but Langford said he is in no position to do so, as the incident remains under investigation by outside authorities.
A witness on the scene of the shooting says Mack was armed and about to draw a gun at the time of the shooting. Other witnesses say he was surrendering.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the Attorney General are investigating the shooting.
