GALLOWAY TWP. -
Five senior police officers in Galloway Township are expected to announce their retirement, which has prompted the Township Manager to rescind layoff notices to five junior officers.
Chief of Police Patrick Moran announced Wednesday that the five officers are expected to retire January first, which will save the junior officers from being laid off. Galloway Township police will have 48 officers as of the first, and will work to reorganize to address the needs of the public and the department.
Chief Moran called the senior officers decision to retire a selfless gesture, and thanked them for their over 130 year of combined experience.
