A fire tore through a Hamilton Twp. home Wednesday morning, causing a total loss to the house and displacing the couple who lived there as well as their pets, officials say.
According to Hamilton Twp. firefighters, the blaze broke out around 10:30 Wednesday morning on the 5900 block of Estelle Ave. in the Mizpah section of the township, severely damaging the top floor of the two story home where the fire is believed to have started.
The fire reached two alarms with a total of four companies responding. Smoke was visible from miles away. It took firefighters roughly 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
The couple who own the home were not inside when the fire broke out. The residents also owned seven cats which were still being accounted for around noon Wednesday.
