LINWOOD - Many are doing their shopping online raising concerns about how to keep their holiday valuables safe, from the click of the mouse, to delivery.
All across the Garden State, cyber shopping orders are being processed, and stores and shipping companies are taking steps to keep customers, and their money, safe.
We spoke with the owner of the Linwood UPS Store who said that the shipping company ensures neighborhoods are safe before they'll leave a package at house where no one is home.
If the item is especially valuable, they'll hang on to it, and bring it back another time.
The New Jersey State Police Cyber Crimes Unit offers additional tips for safe shopping, saying, "When buying through popular auction web sites, many purchases are paid for with protected and secure systems. Avoid vendors that encourage you to complete transactions outside of this... This often ends in disaster for the hopeful shopper."
Online shoppers are also doing their best to keep their purchases safe.
One local resident said she only uses well-established sites like Amazon, and uses a credit card that offers extra security measures for online purchases.
