The State Department of Health is urging those still struggling in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy to take advantage of an emergency prescription program.
The Federal Emergency Prescription Assistance Program is for those without insurance who were affected by Sandy and need refills on their prescription drugs. The free program supplies a one time 30 day refill of prescriptions at participating pharmacies. According to the state, most large pharmacies and many smaller pharmacies have pre–registered with the program. Individuals must demonstrate New Jersey residency to qualify.
To find pharmacies currently enrolled in the program you can call the help line at 1– 866– 935– 4135.
