Atlantic County residents who suffered losses as a result of Hurricane Sandy, and are struggling to pay for food can now apply for a one time disaster food assistance benefit.
Those who believe they are eligible cane apply for the program, known as D-SNAP, at Boardwalk Hall through December 4th. To be eligible, residents must have spent over $100 on storm related expenses, such as hotels or gas and meet income requirements.
The D-SNAP benefit is not available for residents already enrolled in the state's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Those who apply, must provide documentation of the expenses and proof that they live in Atlantic county.
