SOMERS POINT -
A group of Coast Guard recruits were treated to a Thanksgiving meal in Atlantic County Thursday.
AMVETS Post 911 and VFW Post 2189 hosted recruits from Coast Guard Training Center Cape May for a Thanksgiving meal Thursday afternoon at their
post in Somers Point.
Organizers with the VFW and AMVETS say they host the
recruits as a way to give back to the community.
"I think it's good for just community
support, because we're all veterans, and our attitude is give back, we're all
very successful, we're fortunate that we don't have problems, so we have the
opportunity to give back to the community and we take advantage of that," said Bob Frolow, Commander of VFW Post 2189 in Somers Point.
In all about 60 recruits enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal and an
afternoon of watching football.
