ATLANTIC CITY – The Casino Reinvestment Development Authority has approved funding for Harrah's proposed 100,000 square foot conference facility.
The results of the CRDA vote approving the funding was a yes vote from all members, with one abstention.
The mood was all positive Tuesday, as the casino reinvestment development authority approved funding for the new meeting and conference facility proposed by Harrah's.
We spoke with Jeff Vasser, President of the Atlantic City Convention & Visitors Authority, which manages the Atlantic City Convention Center.
Vasser says he's excited about the Harrah's facility, and in fact was involved in its early stages.
Caesar's Entertainment eastern region president Don Marrandino led a presentation at the meeting, showcasing what the facility would look like.
200,000 square feet total, 100,000 square feet of that is usable space, and Vasser says that's a perfect midpoint that could draw in more business.
It also proves to potential companies looking for meeting space that Atlantic City is serious about expanding its non-gaming portfolio.
