Two boxers who are in town for matches on Saturday night took time out of their preparation to lift the spirits of children in Atlantic City still recovering from Hurricane Sandy.
Lightweight Adrien Broner and Heavyweight Seth Mitchell stopped by the Boys and Girls Club Wednesday afternoon.
The two undefeated fighters delivered inspirational words to the children and helped pick up debris left behind by sandy. Two dollars from every ticket sold for Saturday's bout will be given to the Boys and Girls Club.
The boxers were happy to give the kids something to smile about after a difficult few weeks.
"Sports is kind of therapeutic. A lot of times, things happen and people can just escape when they see a sporting event and things of that nature so to come out here and just to be able to give them a little bit of hope, it feels good," said Mitchell.
All of the bouts will be taking place at Boardwalk Hall this Saturday night.
