Two Richard Stockton players received NJAC weekly honors as the Osprey teams concluded the fall 2012 season. Senior Stephanie Warner
(Totowa/Passaic Valley) was named NJAC Volleyball Player of the Week
for the second consecutive time and third this season. Freshman Anthony Maruca (Galloway/ Absegami) was chosen NJAC Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week for the first time.
Warner led Stockton with 36 kills and a .517 hitting percentage plus four blocks in two NCAA Tournament matches. The two-time NJAC Player of the Year slammed a career-high 22 kills to lead the Ospreys to their first NCAA Tournament victory since 2000 as they rallied to defeat Johns Hopkins in five sets on November 9. The next day, Warner spiked a team-high 14 kills and added four blocks in her final college match but Stockton was ousted from the NCAA tourney with a 3-1 defeat to #14 Salisbury.
Maruca finished strong with a goal and an assist in the final week of his rookie season at Stockton. The freshman dished an assist as the Ospreys defeated Mount St. Mary (NY) 5-2 in the ECAC Metro quarterfinals on November 8. Maruca then scored a goal in the 5-1 ECAC semifinal win over New Jersey City on November 10. He finished his rookie year with two goals and three assists for seven points in 20 games played, including six starts for the Ospreys.
