Doughnut chain opens in Marmora, donates to Sandy relief
Excitement was brewing Saturday for the grand opening of Dunkin' Donuts.
The ribbon cutting ceremony offered games and prizes including free coffee for a year, but those weren't the only reasons to be excited.
Dunkin' Donuts also made a donation of $5,000.00 to the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce and OCNJ Cares. The money will go to help Ocean City residents and businesses affected by Hurricane Sandy.
Officials are excited to have the donuts and coffee chain partner with the resort town to help those affected by the storm.
"This is all for a charity that's gonna touch Ocean City people and we couldn't be more grateful. They're great community partners, Dunkin Donuts, and we're just glad to be here," said Michelle Gillian, Executive Director of the Ocean City Chamber of Commerce.
Officials say the money will go to revitalize the business district and communities devastated by Hurricane Sandy.
