Flu season is in full swing and Atlantic County wants to make sure its residents stay healthy throughout.
Thursday's
flu clinic was held in Ventnor in spite of Hurricane Sandy's lingering
affects on the community. Thursday was the last of 11 scheduled flu
clinics sponsored by the Atlantic County Division of Public Health.
"Well
the reason why every year you need a flu shot is because the flu virus
changes every year so the vaccine itself consists of a formula that
protects you against 3 strains of flu that are thought to be circulating
in the community," said Atlantic County Public Health Officer Patricia
Diamond.
The county will be holding walk in flu clinics daily at the Stillwater building in Northfield starting Tuesday.
