LINWOOD--A Mainland Regional High School alumnus came back to her school today to say thank you to the students there.
First Lt. Carrie Kelly presented the high school with a flag that was flown in a mission in three different helicopters overseas. This after the students teamed up with the Trump properties in Atlantic City and collected all sorts of items that were sent to her all female platoon. Kelly says mail call is an important day and a huge morale booster, especially when multiple packages come, "It really just makes your day it doesn't matter what you're doing or you can have a really bad day or an ok day and that day is just 10 times better and just the little things they send, a toothbrush seems meaningless but it means a lot and it goes a long way because maybe you really needed that toothbrush and you're like yes a toothbrush." The school has collected and delivered 2,800 pounds of supplies for our nation's troops in the last year and they will continue to do so as long as it's needed. |
