Monica Ott
Meteorologist
Monica joins NBC 40 after an eighteen-month stay in Northeast Michigan forecasting lots of snow along the shores of Lakes Huron and Superior at WBKB-TV in Alpena.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Valparaiso University in Northwest Indiana. While in college she interned at WGN-TV in Chicago and spent ten days chasing storms across tornado alley. Monica fell in love with the weather after a large spring storm with quarter-sized hail caused it to "rain paint chips" in her screened-in patio. Hail continues to be the Ohio native's favorite meteorological phenomena and she is excited about forecasting for the beautiful Jersey shore. Outside the weather center, Monica enjoys reading, riding roller coasters, watching sports (especially Buckeye football), and spending time at the beach. |
