GUTTENBERG, N.J. (AP) _ Authorities say a woman who perished in
a Guttenberg high-rise fire was the daughter of an airline pilot
whose plane was hijacked on 9/11 and crashed into the Pentagon.
Investigators say Wendy Burlingame died of smoke inhalation when
fire swept through her tenth-floor apartment in the 44-story Galaxy
Towers complex early this morning (Tuesday).
The 32-year-old Burlingame was the only daughter of Charles
Burlingame the Third, who was the pilot of American Airlines Flight
77 on September Eleventh.
Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio says Wendy Burlingame's
death is being investigated as a suspicious death.
Investigators say Burlingame's live-in boyfriend told them he
was fleeing out of the apartment with her when he accidentally shut
and locked the front door behind him. He wasn't able to get back
in.
Firefighters found Burlingame's body in a hallway between the kitchen and a bedroom.
