UPPER TWP.—One man is dead following a three-car accident in Upper Township.

Police say just before 1 p.m. Monday afternoon, 67-year-old James Lawerence of Quinton in Salem County was driving northbound on Route 50 when his vehicle left the northbound lane for an unknown reason, crossed into the southbound lane and collided head on with a 2001 Toyota Prius. A third vehicle then struck the Toyota.

Lawerence was pronounced dead at the scene. 54-year-old Richard Carroll of Tuckahoe sustained internal injuries and a fractured clavical. Carroll was flown to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
