NORTHFIELD -- A woman was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon after her car crashed into a pole in Northfield.

It happened just before 1 p.m. in the area of Wabash Avenue and Mill Road.

Police say that's where Joseph Robinson of Somers Point failed to yield to an SUV driven by Sheryl Rizzo of Northfield. The violation caused Robinson to crash into Rizzo's car, sending her vehicle into a nearby pole. She was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for non life-threatening injuries.

Robinson charged with failure to stop or yield. The incident remains under investigation.
