(Return to Video Menu - View Full)
ATLANTIC CITY -- On Tuesday, Atlantic City Police arrested a man in connection with a shooting that took place there over the weekend.
Police say they arrested 29-year-old Miguel Rivera of Atlantic City in the parking lot of the Public Safety Building. Authorities say detectives witnessed Rivera double park his car in the building's parking lot, and run into a nearby home. Police say the detectives recognized Rivera as a suspect in the weekend shooting.
Detectives detained a passenger who remained in the car, and additional units were called in and surrounded the building and ordered Rivera out. Rivera surrendered without incident.
Inside the house, police found narcotics, and arrested 24 year old Ibn Shelton, of Atlantic city on drug charges.
Rivera was wanted in connection with a shooting early Sunday morning on California Avenue. Police say that's where an Egg Harbor Township man was shot in the back after leaving the Tropicana Casino. The victim of the shooting is in stable condition at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.
Rivera has been charged with attempted murder, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, among other charges.
