ATLANTIC CITY-- Harrah's Resort was packed tonight as they celebrated the opening of a brand new restaurant.

"Sammy D's," founded by famous chef Sammy DeMarco opened tonight inside Harrah's. DeMarco describes the restaurant as a coffee shop featuring local flavors with a new twist.

The restaurant has been in the works for about a year, and the chef is excited to show Atlantic City his take on local favorites.

"What I like to do when I come to a town instead of coming here and showing what I do, I kind of really embrace whats going on in the city, take really some ethnic flavors from around town, for example, we have a broccoli rabe egg roll, kind of like a Philly flavor. But again it's taking things people are familiar with and creating some excitement," said DeMarco.

Chef Sammy DeMarco has restaurants in Las Vegas and New York. Sammy D's will be open 24 hours Wednesdays through Sundays.
