CAPE MAY -- The city of Cape May has partnered with Richard Stockton College of New Jersey for performing arts events over the next two years.
A formal signing ceremony was held today to acknowledge the resolution approved by the Cape May City Council authorizing and directing the mayor and city clerk to execute the convention hall concert series agreement on behalf of the city. It's called Stockton Goes to the Beach, and officials say the partnership is designed to produce exposure and participation in a wide variety of arts and cultural events. "We're really, really excited to expand our circle of friends with childrens theater down here. Although we're called the Greater Ocean City Theater Company, we feel our reaches are pretty far and we're really excited about that," said Michael Hartman, Greater O.C. Theater Co. "We found there was tremendous compatibility and today's agreement marks the start of a wide-ranging comprehensive parternship," added Dr. Edward Mahaney, Mayor of Cape May. The new, 20,000 square foot convention hall will be unveiled at the end of May. |
