TOUCHDOWN SUNDAY IN SOMERS POINT A SUCCESS FOR ALS

SOMERS POINT- Touchdown Sunday is a phrase that is common to all football fans this time of the year, but on Sunday it has added meaning for all the right reasons.
"It is our 3rd annual year for Touchdown Sunday with Tom Cetrone and we decided to keep it a light tone thing. Everyone comes out for the Eagles game and we have lots to eat and drink and lots of auction items" says Brian Condella.
47 year old Birgantine native Tom Cetrone was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease back in 2008. Friends acted then to help Cetrone who now resides in Linwood, with his every day battles and they continue to help now.
"He loves the comradery that the event brings and the friendship and the groups of people that come in. These are people that he does not get to see throughout the course of the year" says John Kelley.
Tom's support goes beyond his classmates from back at Holy Spirit, as even local leaders want to help with the fight.
"Holy Spirit is a family but his support goes far beyond Holy Spirit with his network of friends. It has been heartwarming to see people take up this cause and help raise money to support Tommy and his family" says Don Marrandino.
"It is something were going to keep going and we love doing and it is a group of friends getting together for a good cause and it is such a horrible disease" says Kelley.
