VENTNOR--Two candidates filed petitions Tuesday in hopes of filling the vacant Ventnor commissioner seat.

Tuesday was the deadline to submit petitions to run in the election in November to fill the seat that was left vacant after Stephen Weintrob resigned. Tuesday afternoon former Ventnor Mayor Timothy Kreischer handed in a petition with about 180 signatures. And early Tuesday morning we're told Michael Advena handed in a petition signed by about 500 people.
