POMONA -- A local college is turning heads across the country. Recently the highly acclaimed guidebook, Colleges of Distinction, was released and included the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey on their list.

Institutions named in the publication are recognized for such things as teaching, student engagement, success of graduates, and the surrounding community. The honor is already fueling aspirations for the future.

"I think it's really important. It's great to get these kinds of acknowledgments, but we always must be vigilant. We must never let go. We have to keep going forward, keep providing opportunities for our students and build upon these kinds of recognitions," said college spokesman Dr. Harvey Kesselman.

The school was also the only public college in the entire state to be given the distinguished honor.
