ATLANTIC CITY -- The state legislature is considering a bill to increase fines for using cell phones while driving, but now a new cell phone app is giving parents the ability to keep their children safe as well.

It's called Text Zapper, and it's a new downloadable application that allows parents to prevent their children from texting, emailing, or surfing on the web, while their vehicle is in motion.

With recent studies showing that cell phone usage behind the wheel could be more dangerous than drunk driving, developers are confident this new technology will help save countless lives.

"The reality of it is it's a big problem and people aren't aware. But there's a solution and that's really, what we're doing is provide a solution that makes a lot of sense and it's an inexpensive and easy solution," said Joel Magaziner, CEO of Text Zapper.

At this time, Text Zapper is available on over 70 smart phones. For more information visit our links page.
