CAPE MAY -- A group of lucky ladies bid on some of New Jersey's most eligible bachelors this evening, including two from NBC 40, all to benefit a great cause.
NBC 40's Pete Thompson and Dan Skeldon were both auctioned off at The Rusty Nail in Cape May tonight. They joined a parade of South Jersey men to benefit the Community Food Bank of South Jersey. The fundraiser helps to feed thousands of hungry and homeless families throughout Cape May, Atlantic and Cumberland counties. One founding member says this year, the auction was a bit easier to plan. "Last year we put it together in 6 weeks, but this year we had from last year to plan it. So we've timed out all the bugs I hope and have a smoother running and better sounding event this year," said Pat Jackson, a founder member of the Mermaid Guild of Cape May. The auction featured 22 to 60 year-old bachelors who were found through Facebook and by suggestion. This is the second year of the charity auction. |
