MARGATE-- One boat owner and his wife built a replica of the U.S.S. New Jersey, and says it's the only one of its kind.

Bill Gifford has spent two years building the 35-foot boat, complete with a G.P.S., cameras and a cruising range of at least four hours.

He said he was inspired to build something special.

"I decided to build something totally unique and different, try and find a boat I could put together that nobody else in the world owns," said Gifford.

He does intend to sell the replica and says the idea is to build another battle cruiser so the boats can compete with each other.

Gifford owns Gifford Marina in Margate.
