MAYS LANDING -- It was the ultimate gift for a very deserving Brigantine resident in need of transportation thanks to a local auto dealership and body shop.
Thanks to a car donation from State Farm Insurance and donated work from Admiral Auto Body, Claire Schwarz is now the proud owner of four wheels.
Claire has been traveling to and from Northfield every day for almost a year studying to be a medical assistant in addition to caring for her sweetheart Joe who has emphysema and bladder cancer. She also cares for the father of her ex-husband and father of her two children who is on kidney dialysis.
"This car will give me back the gift of time and it will hopefully make unemployment easier as I can get to my job even in a midnight to 8 schedule...I could do that," said Schwarz.
Admiral joined up with the Salvation Army to locate a deserving recipient for the car.
