EGG HARBOR TWP - The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is investigating the burglary and vandalism to the concession stand at the BMX track in Veterans Memorial Park, off Ocean Heights Avenue in the Scullville section of the township. On September 1, 2010, at approximately 8:47 am, the overhead steel roll-up door and other doors to the stand were found pried open and candies scattered throughout the area by workers from Egg Harbor Township Public Works. These damages allowed the unknown subject(s) access to remove candy and other items from the stand. Other damages consisted of trash cans being tipped over and an electric meter being smashed. The burglary was investigated by Patrolman Edward Bertino.

Prior to the BMX concession stand damages being found, a backhoe being used in the Veterans Park area was found to have been damaged. Several windows to the backhoe were broken out by unknown subject(s). The incidents all occurred during the overnight hours. This is the second incident that occurred in this area recently. On August 19th the concession stand for Veterans Park was broken into. The police department is still looking for information on that incident.

The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is looking for anyone who has any information about the burglary, thefts and vandalism. They can contact the Egg Harbor Township Detective Bureau at (609)926-4051 or Crime Stoppers at 609-652-1234 or 1-800-658-8477(TIPS).
