SENTENCE OF CONVICTED MURDERER AFFIRMED BY APPELATE COURT
Matt Lerario ( mlerario@nbc40.net) - 9/1/10 05:47 pm
MAYS LANDING -- The man convicted of killing three men nearly ten years ago will continue to serve his original sentence after years of appeals.
It was back on September 8th of 200 when a man with an AK-47 opened fire on a vehicle at a traffic light on the White Horse Pike in Atlantic City, killing three men.
Nearly a week later Lloyd Massey was arrested for the crime and in 2002 was sentenced to three life sentences without the possibility of parole. Over the past 8 years, various appeals have been filed on Massey's behalf and the appellate court recently released their final decision.
"All of That was done in an appropriate way that the conviction stands and that Lloyd Massey must serve the balance of his sentence as life without parole for those 3 killings," said Murray Talasnick, First Assistant Prosecutor of Atlantic County.
Killed in that shooting were Lamont Wilson, Richard White, and Michael Demps. Massey was also convicted of one count of attempted murder of a 4th victim.
