ATLANTIC CITY -- One unlucky poker hand turned out to be a golden nugget for a few lucky gamers this past Tuesday.

A big congratulations to Sheryl Wallace and John Sweet Jr. who took home a total of just over $270,000 in the city's first ever multi-casino Texas Hold 'em Bad Beat Jackpot. "Bad Beat" because the only way to win is by losing a hand strong enough to meet the casino's requirements to an even stronger hand.

30% of the jackpot goes to the loser and 20% goes to the winner of the hand. The rest is divided up amongst the seated players on any Bad Beat Jackpot game in Harrah's Caesar's, Bally's, or Showboat. Those players each received just over $2,700 each.
