NORTHFIELD-- Northfield Police opened their Aggressive and Distractive Driver campaign today by targeting unsafe drivers on two popular roads in the area.

An undercover police officer was set up at the corner of New Rd. and Tilton Rd. today to pinpoint several law violators, including cell phone talkers, texters, and red light runners. Once spotted, other officers in the area responded to the calls and ticketed the drivers.

The campaign will continue through September and aims to teach both distractive and aggressive drivers a lesson.

As of 7 p.m., 79 people had been stopped throughout the day.
