ATLANTIC CITY---It was that time of the year again for a local health center's annual picnic to feed hundreds of homeless people throughout the atlantic city area.
AtlantiCare Mission Healthcare teamed up with a number of different agencies today to celebrate National Health Center week, giving people the opportunity to eat, get their blood pressure checked as well as pick up a variety of literature on health services. One visitor who battled an alcohol addiction for 30 years told us he wouldn't have been able to overcome his addiction if it wasn't for events like this where he's able to meet people just like him. Visitor Jeff Reyworth from Galloway Township said, "Its been a long battle and the clinic has been behind me 100 percent I've been coming here for 10 years and they never turned me away never told me no." The theme of National Health Center Week 2010 is "Celebrating America's Health Centers: Turning the Vision into Reality." |
