ATLANTIC CITY -- On the heels of a major announcement by Governor Chris Christie this week, local politicians are planning to meet in Atlantic City next month to iron out the details of his proposed sweeping reforms.
A panel headed by Senator Jim Whelan and Assemblyman John Burzichelli will be reviewing a report compiled by the Hanson Commission, which formed the foundation of Christie's ideas. The report lays out a strategy for restructuring the state's gaming, horse racing, and sports industries, but local officials believe there are some gaps in the plan that still need to be filled. It's these specific details that will be the main topic of discussion at the upcoming summit. |
